Abstract

Yugonostalgia is a phenomenon that has been barely studied to date, despite its multiple and visible manifestations. It is a phenomenon perceived and valued, both collectively and individually, in very different ways, but nevertheless, there has been a tendency to identify Yugonostalgia, and therefore also its manifestations, with the longing for the Yugoslav socialist state, and to a certain extent , also with opposition to the independence and democratization processes of the former Yugoslav republics. This work aims to question this identification, and to do so, the complexity of the phenomenon is explored using as a vehicle some of the work that has been carried out on yugonostalgia.
