Abstract

An in-depth analysis of the causes of the collapse of the SFRJ and its subsequent conflicts is not required to rule that the repeated resort to ethnic causality as the sole pretext, driving force and purpose of the processes of dissolution of the Balkan state is epidermal, gimmicky and adulterated. .Despite these avant la lettre considerations, it is necessary to argue that this peculiar historical moment that framed the Yugoslavian morass, led to the development of explanatory discourses, namely, media or academically rooted, which fluctuated between tendentious analysis and reductionisms of common sensationalism. If the progressive dissolution of the Balkan country was catalyzed under these parameters, the chronicle and interpretation of the resulting conflicts, taking the Bosnian war as a paradigm, reached paroxysm.The violent Yugoslav implosion fed a historiography, basically of a Germanic rubric, that postulated the great historical error that the creation of Yugoslavia in 1919 had represented, and that despite honorable exceptions, turned out to be hostage to the time that the simultaneity and immediacy of the event It caused the alteration of rigorous and academic analysis.
