n the analysis of the situation of the Serbian economy, especially from the perspective of potential attractive sectors for investment, several positions prevail. One of them is about the economy in which negative trends continue. It is characterized, first of all, by the largest fiscal deficit in Europe (in 2014, the budget deficit will even reach 8% of GDP), which will result in a public debt worth 70% of GDP. The fiscal consolidation process will be long and complex. Along with the difficult measures that the Government of Serbia has taken, especially in the reduction of pensions and salaries of public sector workers, there are problems derived from the limitation of stimulation measures in attracting investments. foreigners. However, the direction towards European integration, such as the opening of negotiations with the EU, will be factors that send a message of stability to foreign investors. The agreement that the Serbian Government signed with the World Bank in November 2014 shows a positive sign.
